WORSHIP & MUSIC

* * * * * * * * *

JOIN US This Sunday, February 26, at 9 a.m. to meet CTK's Pastoral Candidate, REV. KOREY FINSTAD.  Pastor Korey will preside over worship and preach the sermon.  Following worship, you can personally meet him during coffee fellowship.

Ash Wednesday is February 22nd!
Join us for the beginning of the Lenten season and two opportunities to worship on Ash Wednesday.  On Wednesday, February 22, a brief Service of the Word with the imposition of ashes will be offered at noon, with the complete, traditional service taking place at 7 pm.  Both services will offer the imposition of ashes and Holy Communion.  Prior to the 7 pm service, a soup supper, sponsored by members of our Altar Guild, will be held on Fellowship Hall.  Soup will be served starting at 6 pm.

Lenten Soup Suppers and Evening Prayer
You are invited to join us on Wednesday evenings throughout Lent (February 29, March 7, 14, 21, and 28).  Soup suppers begin at 6:15 pm in Fellowship Hall.  Holden Evening Prayer will follow at 7 pm.  Sign up on the poster in the narthex if you can bring a pot of soup, bread or clean-up.

Worship is central to the life of Christians.  We worship Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m.  Holy Communion is offered to everyone every Sunday.  There is a children's sermon every Sunday, along with a variety of music for listening and singing.  Mid-week evening worship and soup suppers are offered during Advent and Lent.

Our worship service alternates each Sunday between two different liturgies.  On the first and third Sundays we use the Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW) hymnal, Setting I.  On 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays, we use Marty Haugen's Feast and Celebration liturgy.  The entire service is printed in our bulletin each Sunday for an easier worship experience.

Everyone
is welcome to receive Holy Communion.

We have home communion kits for the homebound.  Members of the church travel to their homes to offer communion. The elements of bread and wine are consecrated by Pastor during the worship service before they are used for home distribution.  Anyone wishing to receive communion in their home because they are unable to attend worship should call the church office.

Adult Kyrie Choir practices Wednesday evenings (September through mid-May) at 7:00 p.m.  Carole Hedrick is our Music Coordinator.  They sing 3-4 Sundays per month.

We invite vocalists and instrumentalists to participate in worship.

Lay Assistants are important volunteers:  Assistant Ministers, Lectors, Communion Assistants, Acolytes, Ushers and Greeters.  Altar Guild members set up for Holy Communion and prepare the altar area each Sunday.  Altar Guild meets on the second Monday of each month (Sept.-May).

A nursery facility with sound system is not staffed, but is available for parents and infants.

Coffee Fellowship follows worship each Sunday at 10:15 a.m.  Coffee, juice and treats are served by members in the Fellowship Hall.  Coffee and tea are furnished by the church, while members furnish the juice and treats.  Members are asked to sign up on the poster outside of  the Fellowship Hall for an opportunity to bring treats and serve during coffee fellowship.
During the summer months (June, July and August) coffee fellowship is only held on the 1st and 3rd Sundays.

Come and enjoy fellowship and food following worship on Sunday mornings!
